Custom Deck Builder in North and West Vancouver

When we bought our new home last year, we knew there was a dry rot problem with the back deck and shed beneath it. We began talking to contractors. The first contractor pulled out a week before project start, with virtually no communication, after months of consult and planning. The second was not available to start our project for close to a year, and their spotty communication made me nervous. Then we found Climate Custom Decks, through a Facebook recommendation. It's true, they definitely were not inexpensive, but ended up being worth every dollar. First, we met Isaac, the estimator, who asked us plenty of questions and came out to have a look at the site and get an idea of the scope and feasibility. I was very impressed that one of the first questions he asked us was what was most important to us if we worked together. Isaac was friendly, knowledgeable and communicative and very open to questions. He offered us clearly broken down quotes to show what different products would look like and cost, with no pressure on us to choose higher priced options (we didn't). When we met Matt, the Red Seal carpenter and business owner, we were further impressed by his clear dedication to excellence both in his product and in customer service. Several times over the course of the project he sought me out to explain something or ask about a tweak. He and Jodi, the other builder onsite, were both a total pleasure to have around. They were lovely to our curious talkative children, and while they worked hard we could often hear them laughing as well. We are very happy with our new deck, and reassured that it is sturdy, looks good, and will last us for years as our family enjoys it. It's a vulnerable situation, entrusting your home and your money to strangers. You can read reviews and meet the people, but at the end of the day, it's an act of faith. I would hire Custom Climate Homes again any day, and will recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone else. It was a great experience to know we were in good hands.
